Magnificent Automotive Detailing - FAQ

FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

A car wash is generally either a machine that washes your car while on a conveyor belt or involves people hand washing the car with either buckets or a pressure washer. It is often just the outside but may include door jams and a tire shine.

A detail on the other hand is tailored to the specific needs of your car, if you have a historic car your detailer most likely will use a 2 bucket hand wash and hand held foam cannon, with more modern cars your detailer will most likely use a pressure washer with foam cannon as well as a 2 bucket wash, it can involve cleaning your engine bay, door jams, interior cleaning such as vacuuming, steam cleaning, carpet cleaning, interior window clean, centre console, steering wheel, seat belts, seats, glove box, dashboard, screens etc as well as paint correction, headlight restoration, buffing and polishing. Which is why we generally customised the detail to your specifications and price range.
Our attention to detail is well above any of the chain car washes you may see by the side of the road. We have experience detailing all types of cars and our detailers are dedicated to learning the latest techniques and keeping up to date with the latest products.

We can come to you so you don't need take your car anywhere. You just provide electricity and a water connection.
Simple answer – You get what you pay for.

You will see the difference when you take delivery of your newly detailed vehicle. It comes down to attention to detail and ensuring that you’re maintaining the paint and interior so more drastic measures aren’t required later on to restore it. It also helps to keep your resale value high, as it looks like you’ve cared for your car.
This might sound gross, but here’s my analogy – When you have Body Odour and you spray deodorant over the top, it masks the smell for a little while. But the reality is that underneath you still stink. The more you spray, the more you stink underneath and eventually it wears off. Continued use of wax is like spraying deodorant on your dirty and/or damaged paint.

Paint correction firstly removes all previous layers of wax and polishes and allows us to see what condition your paint is really in. Then we can start to polish, using the right products to correct any imperfections in your paint that you may not have known was there.

Once the paint is corrected, we then add protective coating that will in some cases, last years. Giving you the peace of mind that your paint underneath is as good as it can be and you are not just masking any imperfections.

The paint might even smell better, and heads will turn.
We are a mobile service and can complete the detail at your own property or workplace. We just require access to 240v power, a tap for the hose and enough space to open the doors and boot.

If you don’t have the space or utilities, give us a call and we can see what we arrange.
As above, there are many variables that effect this, including package you choose and condition of the vehicle. We will give you a time expectation after we have spoken to you and completed an initial inspection.

As a general guide, a full pre-sale detail on a sedan will take a minimum of 8 hours.
